The Bad Taste Cru uses dance as a social commentary. Founded 10 years ago by a group of friends in a violent community in Northern Ireland, bboying became an outlet for creative expression and a portal to a better life, leading them towards their current home of Newcastle. While the group members’ personal interests range from filmmaking to graffiti to trainer collecting, they all take pride in developing youth bboy talent, teaching their students the elements of bboying while encouraging aspiration and raising achievement levels.
The BTC compete nationally and internationally in bboy events, jams and dance competitions, and have won many titles in their career, most notably UK Champs 2006, Battle of the Year UK 2008 and BBOY UNIT UK 2008.

After submitting our piece 'Council of the Ordinary' to the Breakin Convention jury a few weeks ago, we got the phone call to confirm we would be performing at the event. We have done it before a few years ago, and always perform at the Newcastle tour, but this year is different, as we are on the final night, which is the main performance nite!!!
So we will be in London the May Bank Holiday, 1-3rd May, we perform on the 3rd. More details and final lineup will be annoucned soon.

So after 16 hours traveling, we arrived in SF, got our rental jeep and off we went, driving on the ‘other' side of the road, taking in the beautiful scenery, huge American cars and advert riddled American radio service.
