Ian Bolwell

I got into bmx when I was about 16 through my Dad. One night he randomly told me he'd recorded a bmx competition on the telly for me to watch, I hadn't seen anything like it before so I thought what the hell, let me have a look see, and that was it I was hooked! As soon as I saw it knew bmxing was what I wanted to do, I love everything about it - even some of the nasty stacks!

Over the years I can honestly say that bmx has saved me from the streets of Stonebridge, north London. During the years of my bmx life I've seen my friends go in and out of prison and get hooked on all kinds of nasty drugs, I'm just glad that my addiction is bmx!

I'm not interested in selling out to make a buck, I just want show people about this bmx world that I come from and the exciting culture that comes from it. I come from an estate and I want to make sure the kids get to see how much fun you can have on a daily basis for free, as there isn’t much for kids to do on these estates.
